Home Printing & Paper Recommendations

Printer settings, paper weight recommendations, and avoiding marker bleed-through.

Q:Will these books print on both US Letter and International A4 paper?

Yes! Our books are natively formatted at 8.5 x 11 inches (US Letter) with generous 0.5-inch safety margins. If you are printing in Europe, Australia, or Latin America on standard International A4 paper, select "Fit to Printable Area" or "Scale to 95-100%" in your printer dialog to prevent edge clipping.

Q:What kind of paper should I use for coloring?

For colored pencils and wax crayons, standard 20–24 lb home copy paper works fine. For alcohol markers (Ohuhu, Copic), gel pens, or watercolor markers, we strongly recommend printing on 65 lb to 110 lb (176–216 gsm) smooth white cardstock or mixed-media paper.

Q:How do I prevent alcohol marker ink from bleeding through?

Because our books are digital printables, every illustration is printed on its own single sheet! Even on thick cardstock, alcohol marker ink naturally saturates fibers; simply slip an extra scrap piece of printer paper or a plastic sheet behind your coloring page to protect your table or desk surface.

Q:Can I print only one specific page instead of the entire book?

Yes. In your PDF reader (such as Adobe Acrobat, Apple Preview, or Google Chrome), simply select the "Page Range" option in the print menu (e.g., page 14) to print only the specific illustration you want to color today.

Digital Coloring on iPad & Tablets

Using your coloring pages in Procreate, GoodNotes, Notability, and Apple Pencil.

Q:Can I color these books on my iPad or Android tablet?

Absolutely! Our high-resolution 300 DPI master PDFs import seamlessly into tablet apps such as Procreate, GoodNotes, Notability, Adobe Fresco, and Clip Studio Paint.

Q:How do I import a page into Procreate?

Open Procreate, tap "Import" in the top right corner, select your Penciland PDF file, and choose the page you wish to color. Procreate creates a crisp 300 DPI canvas. Tip: Set your linework layer to "Multiply" and create a new layer underneath for effortless coloring that keeps the black lines crisp!

Q:Do tap-to-fill color bucket tools work on your linework?

Yes! All Penciland illustrations are engineered with bold, continuous outlines with closed contours. This minimizes flood leaks when using digital color fill tools.

Personal License & Fair Usage

What you can and cannot do with your purchased coloring pages.

Q:Can I print copies for my family or classroom?

Yes! Your personal lifetime license permits printing unlimited copies for your immediate household, family members, or personal classroom students. You can reprint your favorite pages whenever you want to test new color palettes.

Q:Can I share my colored creations on Instagram or TikTok?

We love seeing your finished work! You are welcome to photograph, record process videos, and share your colored artwork on social media. Tag us @PencilandStudio so we can feature you!

Q:Can I resell the digital PDF or use the linework commercially?

No. All illustrations are proprietary copyrighted works of Penciland Creative Studio. You may not resell, upload to file-sharing networks, redistribute, modify for commercial resale, or claim ownership of the line art. See our Terms of Service for full licensing details.
